The Network hosted an interactive panel event, where Joshua Palmer, an experienced property recruitment consultant from PropSource Consulting joined us to share his observation of the latest job market and the lessons learnt from the numerous candidates he has witnessed, from writing CV to preparing for interviews. Judith Onuh MRTPI, Principal Planner at WSP who was featured as a rising star by the RTPI, shared her own recent career experience in navigating through both public and private sectors in the last 6 years, together with Lap Pan Chong, Senior Planning Officer at LB of Enfield, a young planner with 2 years experience in the public sector. The panel shared their career experiences, knowledge and best pieces of advice. The attendees had a chance to ask questions and learn from each others’ experiences. Watch the recording here.
About the panel members
Joshua Palmer, Director of PropSource Consulting specialises in the placement of Town Planners, Environmental Consultants, Transport Planners, Economic Consultants and Stakeholder Engagement Consultants nationwide. Following a number of successful years working for a global recruitment agency based in Manchester, Joshua decided it was time to turn his dreams into reality and setup PropSource Consulting
Judith Onuh MRTPI, Principal Planner at WSP has over 6 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors. Her first planning role was with the Planning Inspectorate as a graduate. Since then Judith has gone on to work in the housing sector and planning consultancy. Judith has a wide range of experience on schemes ranging from Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects to Residential Developments. Judith is an elected RTPI General Assembly member and is passionate about encouraging diversity within the Built Environment.
Lap Pan Chong, Senior Planning Officer at London Borough of Enfield, has worked in the private and public sectors since obtaining his postgraduate degree in 2017. He is now on the development management team where he deals with minor developments and post-decision matters of major developments while working towards the chartered status. Prior to moving to the UK, he campaigned for community-led development for three years in Hong Kong.
