About the Event
While great strides have been made in diversity and inclusion within the RTPI. In its long history, (107 years), Wei is the first President from an ethnic minority community. Various studies show that Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities are underrepresented in leadership positions in all sectors of the Planning Profession. How can the imbalance be addressed so that in the next 3 years there is a fairer representation within leadership positions within the Industry?

Wei is the President of the Royal Town Planning Institute for 2021.
She is the Founder of Wei Yang & Partners, an award-winning master planning firm in London.
Wei is a lead figure in researching, promoting, and implementing 21st Century Garden City approach worldwide. She has extensive experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams. Her professional strengths lie in combining innovative planning inspirations with feasible implementation solutions.
She is also a Fellow of Academy of Social Sciences, an Independent Trustee of the Landscape Institute, a board member of the British Library, and a Board Trustee of Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre.
