Pan Chong

Pan Chong is a passionate, adaptable and solution-oriented chartered strategic spatial planner with keen interests in sustainability, affordability and community engagement. He currently works as a Team Leader (Old Kent Road) at the London Borough of Southwark, leading complex strategic developments from concept to occupation with a track record of timely delivery, positive outcomes and effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders at all levels.
Projects included:
several large-scale phased residential redevelopments such as TfL/Grainger joint venture’s scheme for 162 units adjacent to Arnos Grove Station (RIBA stages 4-7) and Berkeley Homes’ scheme for 262 residential units in a 22.7-hectare site within the designated Green Belt, Trent Country Park and Trent Park Conservation Area containing 25 historic buildings and statues (RIBA stages 4-7)
A pioneering multi-level logistics centre next to Southbury Station (RIBA stages 1-2)
The first modular residential scheme in the borough delivering 29 London Affordable Rent homes with zero operational carbon emissions (RIBA stages 1-3)
22 Discounted Market Sales 'Naked Homes', an innovative alternative affordable housing model that allows occupiers to self-finish and to adapt their homes as their circumstances change (RIBA stages 1-3)
He has a wide range of experience in development management, community infrastructure levy and local plan preparation in both the public and private sectors. He has also accumulated three-year experience in collaborative community planning in Hong Kong.
He is also an active volunteer of Planning Aid for London and a member of the Liaison Board of the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Sheffield. He enjoys supporting community planning groups and young planners.
